Donation to help with increased cost of horse care at Saddle Light Center
(SELMA, TX – MARCH 16, 2023) –– The Security Service Charitable Foundation donated $2,500 to Saddle Light Center of Selma, Texas. This donation will be used to help with the increased cost of horse care.
“We provide a unique service to those that do not wish to be limited by potential disabilities,” said Rebecca Hollington, volunteer coordinator for Saddle Light Center. “This donation from the Security Service Charitable Foundation will help us with the cost of horse care so the center can continue providing high quality care for our horses.”
The Security Service Charitable Foundation’s donation will cover costs associated with horse care like food, medicine, and barn expenses. The Saddle Light Center serves approximately 52 riders a week. Riders range in age from 4 through 40s with various diagnoses and are suffering from conditions such as traumatic brain injuries, autism, down syndrome, and cerebral palsy.
“Saddle Light Center is a unique program that helps with the physical, social, and emotional treatment of individuals through horseback riding services and therapy,” said Brandy Ralston-Lint, senior vice president of corporate communications for Security Service Federal Credit Union.
Saddle Light Center was created in 1991 to provide professional equestrian therapy for children, teenagers, and adults with neurological, orthopedic, learning, emotional, or other disabilities. Saddle Light Center is registered as a physical therapy facility by the Texas Board of Physical Therapy Examiners. The organization is also a Premier Accredited Center with the Professional Association of Therapeutic Horsemanship International.
