Donation helps struggling senior citizens with meals, activities, and transportation

(SAN ANTONIO, TX – MARCH 7, 2023) –– The Security Service Charitable Foundation donated $2,500 to Madonna Center, Inc. of San Antonio, Texas. This donation will be used to fund the annual costs of the senior citizens program, which provides isolated and financially struggling seniors with meals, activities, and transportation.

“Our hope is that our program can help feed seniors who might not otherwise know where their next meal is coming from, and also provide a variety of activities to help combat isolation and depression,” said Roger Caballero, executive director for Madonna Center, Inc. “This donation from the Security Service Charitable Foundation means that we’re able to consistently provide our services and help improve the quality of life for the seniors we serve.”

The Madonna Center provides senior adults meals, as well as social and physical activities five days a week. There are approximately 100 seniors enrolled, with an average daily attendance of 35.

“The work being done at Madonna Center is remarkable,” said Brandy Ralston-Lint, senior vice president of corporate communications for Security Service Federal Credit Union. “Our hope is the senior citizens who participate in this program know there are people out there in the community who care about them.”
