(DENVER, CO – MARCH 28, 2023) –– The Security Service Charitable Foundation donated $5,000 to Denver Children’s Home in Colorado. This donation was used to purchase coats, hats, and gloves for nearly 100 people in need.

“A coat and accessories might seem like a basic necessity to some, but those are essential items every child needs but not might have access to,” said Mike Horak, development director for Denver Children’s Home. “Without donations like this from the Security Service Charitable Foundation, we wouldn’t be able to help keep children warm in the cold.”

Denver Children’s Home partners with Target and utilizes its tax-exempt status to purchase all new clothing.

“Denver Children’s Home has an extraordinary impact on the children and families they serve,” said Brandon Blanchard, senior vice president of member service—Mountain Region for Security Service Federal Credit Union. “We are happy to support an organization that is there for children who have survived trauma, neglect, and abuse.”

Denver Children’s Home restores hope and health to traumatized children and families through an array of therapeutic, educational, and community-based services. The facilities are located in Denver proper, but services and programs are offered across Colorado and into neighboring states where similar programs are lacking or nonexistent.

The Security Service Charitable Foundation helps further Security Service Federal Credit Union’s corporate goal of community service by contributing to deserving organizations and causes in the credit union's market areas.
