SECURITY SERVICE CHARITABLE FOUNDATION
DONATES $5,000 TO MAGDALENA MINISTRIES
Providing resources for women and children who have fled dangerous and abusive lives
(SAN ANTONIO, TX – NOVEMBER 9, 2022) –– The Security Service Charitable Foundation donated $5,000 to Magdalena Ministries for the purchase of essential needs for mothers and children living at Magdalena House in San Antonio.
“The women who come to Magdalena House have experienced unbelievable physical, social and mental abuse, yet they come with the commitment and passion to overcome these experiences,” said Mary Sanders, director of grants for Magdalena Ministries, Inc. “This donation from the Security Service Charitable Foundation means so much as it will allow us to support these women and children during their time here.”
Once families are living at Magdalena House, they typically have no outside income. The Security Service Charitable Foundation’s donation will help the organization purchase essential needs such as food, clothing, over the counter medications, cleaning supplies, household supplies, personal and feminine hygiene, and diapers.
“We want to ensure the women and children fleeing from harmful and dangerous situations in our community have the tools they need in transitional housing,” said Greg Stroud, senior vice president and chief marketing officer for Security Service Federal Credit Union. “We are grateful for the opportunity to support a wonderful organization like Magdalena Ministries, Inc. that does so much to help hundreds of women and children in need throughout San Antonio.”
